Megan was recently awarded a Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) for her project entitled "Clinical assessment of ivermectin as a therapeutic agent to reduce alcohol intake." The research project examines the effects of ivermectin on ethanol self-administration and ethanol craving using human laboratory paradigms. Her doctoral work focused primarily on the preclinical development of ivermectin as novel treatment for alcohol use disorders using murine models of ethanol intake and behavior.
